AI DJ Tools: Tracks With Beat Grid, Cue Points, Camelot Keys and Transitions
Aleatoria makes set preparation faster: an intro or a DJ tool at the tempo and key you need (from the synthesizer), a transition between two tracks you made here, and tracks whose beat grid and cue points are already set — in the MP3 or FLAC for Serato, in an XML for rekordbox — whenever the beat can be measured. It is an AI music studio, and the DJ tools work on the tracks you generate in it.
Make a 122 BPM deep house trackOpens the studio with this template filled in. Nothing is generated until you press Generate.
In detail: the BPM and key are in the file tags (a track from the AI model carries the BPM only when it was measured, and no key), the key is also in Camelot notation in the file name (procedural tracks), the MP3 and FLAC carry a Serato beat grid and cue points whenever the beat could be measured reliably, and each such track downloads with a rekordbox XML carrying its grid and cues. A procedural track also downloads as a DJ pack: the mix, its Drums only and No bass versions on the same grid (a version that would be empty or the same as the mix is left out) and the rekordbox XML in one archive; the versions of a track made on Basic, Studio or Pro are kept 180 days. On top of that, three DJ tools work on the tracks you generated.
Which DJ tools are there?
| Tool | What it does | Plan | Credits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Exact BPM | stretches a track onto the tempo you asked for (needs a measured beat grid within 4 % of the target) | every plan | 0 |
| Extended Mix | adds an intro and outro of 16 or 32 bars (48 or 64 for drum & bass from 160 BPM) built from the track's own drums (optionally drums and bass), on its own grid | Studio, Pro | 8 |
| DJ transition | renders a transition from the end of one of your tracks into the start of another, for tracks in compatible keys and within ±6 % in tempo | Studio, Pro | 4 |
They work on tracks made in your own account. Uploading your own records or someone else's audio is not offered.
Does it work with rekordbox, Serato and Traktor?
BPM and key are written as standard tags — ID3 in MP3 and WAV, Vorbis comments in FLAC — which DJ programs read on import. Serato reads the beat grid and cue points stored in the MP3 and FLAC. rekordbox imports the track's XML with its cues and grid. The files and the XML are how Aleatoria connects to them; there is no plugin inside the DJ programs. Our guide to BPM and key tags goes field by field and shows how to check a track in rekordbox.
What should a DJ know before releasing AI tracks?
Playing your own generated tracks in a set is what the commercial licence of Basic, Studio and Pro covers. Releasing them is another matter: as reported on 28 August 2026, Beatport blocks fully or predominantly AI-generated tracks from its store and labels AI-assisted ones. Every Aleatoria file carries an "AI-generated" label in its metadata.
Which genres suit DJ sets?
Deep house, techno, trance and drum & bass get a club-loud master (about −8 LUFS) and an electronic structure with intro, build, drop and breakdown by default. Try the AI techno generator page for techno.
FAQ
Do I need a paid plan for the DJ features?
Every plan that renders is paid, from Basic at €2.99 a month. The tags, Camelot file names, beat grid and cues, the rekordbox XML, the DJ pack and Exact BPM are on every plan (the grid, cues and Exact BPM need a beat that could be measured). Extended Mix and the DJ transition need Studio or Pro.
Can I use the tracks in paid gigs?
Yes: on Basic, Studio and Pro the licence covers commercial use, including paid events.
Can I upload my own track and extend it?
No. The AI tools only take tracks generated in your own account as their source.
Does it mix my DJ set automatically?
No. There is no automix: Aleatoria does not mix a playlist and does not play live. You mix in your own DJ software; Aleatoria prepares the tracks for it (tags, beat grid, cue points, rekordbox XML), and the DJ transition tool renders a transition between two of your own tracks as a new track: either the transition alone, or the whole mix (the end of the first track, the transition and the rest of the second).
